CASE STUDY #2

Chinese New Year Hiatus

It happens once a year, but the grief it can bring for unprepared clients! Chinese New Year in this industry means but one thing – trouble. Two (and sometimes three) weeks of factories off on vacation can be an insurmountable hurdle when you need to rush order.

That’s exactly what happened to our event-managing client in the US. Being their 25th anniversary festival, they needed items to announce their long-running success whilst serving various functions during the event.

When they came to us, they were already short on time; no one wanted to take their order. We took the leap and confirmed their order on the 15th Jan to be delivered 18th Feb, according to the client’s timeline.

Of course, Chinese New Year had the factories closed by the 7th Feb, so from order confirmation to delivery we had less than 4 weeks.

Not to mention, we presented a variety of products to be signed-off on, which posed a difficulty in time management as well – too many choices can make a decision much harder to come by.

As we recount this story, we’re glad to say that we delivered on the 11th Feb. The 5,500 lanyards ordered were used to hang the entrance pass while indicating the event’s 25th anniversary and 2,000 mobile phone holders were given away as swag.

To thank us, the festival organizers even offered us presence at the festival as their official supplier. Now that’s good marketing!
